Abstract
The main trends and tendencies of the world migration process in the advanced countries at the end of 20th- beginning of 21st centuries are examining in the article. Special attention is attracted to such aspect of labour migration as its economic impact on the national labour markets. On investigating the migration management the author concentrates on its various aspects: the regulation of the legal migration, fight against illegal migration and migrants integration in national communities. In the author's opinion the main task of the present governments is to put into practice the up-to-date migration policy more resolutely since it is a part and parcel of economic and social development as well as national security.
